I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/04/2016 from NY 11201, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

08/04/16 15:43 Upon intake Goober was relaxed and allowed all handling. Cousnelor was able to collar, scan (negative) and photograph. Goober was walked twice a day and is used to slow leashed walks. He eats wet and dry food Foodtown brand and was fed twice a day. When his food is touched while eating he will eat faster and push the bowl away.

Goober came into our center after a member of the public found him as a stray. Finder held onto Goober for two weeks, was consistently relaxed and calm in Finder’s home. Finder reports if Goober’s ood is touched he will begin to eat faster. Goober walked slowly on leash for his relief walk, no pulling. He allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, relaxed. Goober stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, ears and tail neutral. He followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, soft, settled easily. Goober gently pulled his paw back on both Squeeze attempts. He showed no interest in Toy. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Goober greets displaying soft body language. Behaviorally, Goober displays as an Average dog. Goober will benefit from a calm, quiet, structured environment. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft Squeeze 1 / 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Goober greets displaying soft body language

Goober was surrendered as a stray so his past behavior around dogs is unknown. 8/5: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Goober greets displaying soft body language. He is sexually motivated, mounting the female dog, and intermittently listens to handler interruptions as he explores the pen. 8/9: Goober displays soft body language as he greets the other dog. He keeps to himself as he explores the pen. 8/12: Today Goober was introduced to a male. He displayed a high wagging tail and then attempted to mount the other dog. He was a bit persistent after the handler’s interruption. Afterwards he wanders the pen.

S/O: reported by staff to have diarrhea in kennel. Also drank a lot of water then V some blood in cage, but could be from mass on LH foot friendly, sweet dog M/S: amb x4 SKIN: ping pong ball sized mass with small area that is raw (no discharge) on cranial aspect of toes on L HL. Entire length of dorsal tail- bald, dorsum- thinning and patchy alopecia with what appears like a couple of healing superficial wounds. Approx 0.5cm round black dermal mass on dorsolateral L thorax ANB: SNP EENT: pink gums, moderate tartar A: D: r/o stress, infectious, parasites, other V: r/o secondary to drinking too much too fast, infectious, GI FB, other mass on L HL: r/o benign vs. malignant moderate dental dz mass on dorsolateral thorax: r/o benign vs. malignant fur thinning: r/o underlying metabolic/endocrine dz P: start on metronidazole 500mg: 1T PO BID x7 cerenia 10mg/ml: 3.5ml SQ SID once monitor for V, app, and response to tx for D ideally rec cbc/chem/t4/ua/fecal opg, AUS to determine if any evidence of underlying Cushing’s or other. Mass on L HL- rec removal/debulking and bx for confirmation if benign or malignant
