My name is GONZO. My Animal ID # is A1069554.
I am a male black and white boston terrier mix. The shelter thinks I am about 3 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 04/07/2016 from NY 10456, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

04/11/2016 Exam Type RE-EXAM – Medical Rating is 3 C – MAJOR CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is AVERAGE, Weight 23.6 LBS.

04/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Gonzo is a bit fearful in his kennel. Once he is safely remove from his kennel he walks calmly on leash. Gonzo was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, wagging tail. He was calm and relaxed during handling and followed the assessor at the end of the leash with a calm and relaxed when playing tag. Gonzo was not interested in toys. Gonzo did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that he can go to an Average home. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, wagging tail, open mouth. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. No interest. Playgroup Notes: When off leash with other dogs, Gonzo is nervous and stays close to the feet of the handlers.

When off leash with other dogs, Gonzo is nervous and stays close to the feet of the handlers. 4/9 update: Gonzo softly approaches larger dogs but is not comfortable when they solicit play, and he will run away.
