10/04/2016 Exam Type BEHAVIORPART2 – Medical Rating is 1 – NORMAL , Behavior Rating is NH ONLY, Weight 52.2 LBS.
MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 10/2/16 During his initial medical exam Goldie was growling, snapping, and head flipping- he was given a limited exam. ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS: New Hope Only _X_No children (under 13) _X_Place with a New Hope partner (Goldie’s threshold for arousal has been observed to be low and his escalation rapid, so we recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide an experienced foster home and consultation with a behaviorist to address safety concerns before placement into an adoptive home.) Potential challenges: _X_Fearful/potential for defensive aggression (Goldie has displayed a low threshold for arousal within the care centers with rapid escalation; snarling, lunging with intent to harm. Because he has displayed clear warning signals and poses a potential bite risk, the behavior department strongly recommends an experienced adult only home who can safely manage this behavior and further assess once in a stable environment.) Additional note: Goldie has a history of demonstrating aggressive behaviors and has avoided interaction in the care center, including displaying distance-increasing and threatening behaviors. Goldie will likely need significant behavioral intervention and modification, so we ask that any groups considering taking responsibility for Goldie’s wellbeing have a plan in place that includes work with a trained, experienced behaviorist and a plan for keeping Goldie and those around him safe.
