Scanned POSITIVE on intake History : Surrendered, was presumed healthy but hadn’t seen a vet in a few years Subjective: Vocalizes when left alone. Alert. Observed Behavior – Allows most handling but evades eye and ear exam. Objective: BAR-H, MMs pink and moist, BCS 7/9 EENT: Mucoid ocular discharge OU, immature cataract in OD. Ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted. Oral Exam: Moderate tartar. PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated. U/G: Male neutered. MSI: Seborrhea sicca on dorsum. Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted. CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externallyAssessment: 1. Dental disease 2. Mucoid ocular discharge OU – R/O allergies vs. KCS vs. other 3. Seborrhea – R/O allergies vs. poor nutrition vs. other cause. 4. Overweight. Prognosis: Good Plan: 1. Recommend dental cleaning 2. Clean eyes and do Schirmer tear test – if negative, try a course of Benadryl 3. Recommend weight loss of 2-5 lbs and fatty acid supplementation 4. If seborrhea does not resolve, rec consult with dermatologist
