06/01/2017 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Ginger is a completely adorable engaging, resilient, wiggly lady that should be your #1 choice to get shipwrecked on an island with! She loves going out on the town, has been easy to walk on leash, and seems housebroken. She is a treat connoisseur and a “sit”ting expert. Her gait is still a little off from a recent run in with a car, but that doesn’t stop her from eagerly diving after tennis balls and throwing stuffies for herself. She has been friendly whenever we run into staff members or other volunteers on walks and LOVES attention! She might need a moment to get there, but she has the potential to knock you down with kisses and wag her tail so hard that she’s on the verge of taking flight! She could be your Ginger girl…come see her at Brooklyn ACC!

Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag:1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. DOG-DOG INTERACTION ASSESSMENT: Summary PLAYGROUP: Ginger was surrendered as a stray so her past behavior around dogs is unknown. Due to Ginger’s medical status, an off leash dog-dog interaction will not be conducted at this time. All initial introductions to novel dogs should be conducted slowly and be under supervision. INTAKE BEHAVIOR 5/23/17: Upon intake Ginger was difficult getting into the truck. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 5/23/17: During her medical examination, Ginger was friendly and social, she did allow all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Ginger so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. However, she is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct her energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: Average (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
