A volunteer writes: Beloved by staff, adored by volunteers and ready to sweep potential adopters right off their feet…it’s happy Gilmore! A low-riding cutie who has quickly snortled his way into all our hearts, Gilmore’s an eagerly affectionate and high spirited guy yet well-mannered enough to come when called, sit on request and take treats gently. Snuggles are par for the course and he gives cheek kisses and little ear nips too–cheeky monkey! Gilmore is the kind of dog another volunteer refers to as ‘bomb proof’ because there’s just no wrong way to handle him and his beaming smile and helicopter tail are always on display. He does pull a little on leash but is nicely responsive and seems to be extremely house trained, even earning himself the ‘gold star’ of a sign stating this achievement on his kennel door. Other dogs are met with friendly manners in the street and a jumpy play style in group and it’s no surprise to learn this loving boy received an excellent behavior evaluation and can be adopted into almost any kind of home. Ask for Gilmore at our Manhattan Care Center and take home a lifetime supply of smiling lessons courtesy of the happiest Hippo-pittie-mus in town!
