A staff member writes: Georgio is a silly dog who takes any opportunity to show his personality to the world. He is eager to make friends and spread the love. If you look into his amber eyes you can see the potential he has as a lasting companion. He definitely will enjoy runs in the park or chasing tennis balls. He wants you to come into Brooklyn ACC and bring him home so he can make you laugh!!!
01/27/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Georgio came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Georgio was very energetic and eager to meet all staff, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Georgio came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, he was friendly and social towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Georgio follows the handler but a bit distracted and not fearful during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Georgio was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Georgio appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft but a bit distracted. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, dog smells, then turns away. Dod-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Georgio greets with a high tail and stiff body. He becomes sexually motivated at times but takes breaks to explore his surroundings.
01/27/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Georgio greets with a high tail and stiff body. He becomes sexually motivated at times but takes breaks to explore his surroundings. 2/01 update: Georgio greets the helper dog intensely and immediately becomes sexually motivated. However, he is able to read the other dog’s uncomfortability, control his impulses and redirect his attention elsewhere.
