09/07/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/07/16 14:51 Georgia is a young female dog, possibly a Staffordshire Bull Terrier / French Bulldog mix. She was found in an apartment and brought to ACC by police with 2 other dogs-medium sized adult male and female dogs that she looks like. Police report that the dogs were friendly and outgoing with them and each other. Georgia had a loose, wiggly body and wagging tail while I pet her, scanned her (-), collared her, and positioned her for pictures. She and the other dogs were wiggly around each other and sometimes tangled their leashes. They were panting heavily when they arrived, so we gave them water bowls immediately. They drank out of them interchangeably and sometimes from the same bowl at the same time, soft bodied. Georgia sat close to the female dog.
09/10/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes “Her excitement at being out led her to pull at first. So I asked her to sit. And she did. Then we walked some more. I asked her again to sit. She aims to please because she sat again! Then she took care of business and was much calmer thereafter. She began to get the hang of heeling quite nicely. Her restraint and obedience is remarkable considering she’s only ten months old and spends a good portion goof her day in a kennel. Affectionate and a real looker to boot, she gets 10s from me in every category!” A volunteer writes: Can you hear Ray Charles? “Georgia, Georgia, The whole day through. Just an old sweet song. Keeps Georgia on my mind. I said Georgia Georgia A song of you.” Of course, he was singing about his home state of Georgia, and I’m singing about our sweetest of little girls, Miss Georgia. Found abandoned along with her two housemates, Georgia is the peanut of the group – petite, with rabbit ears, an award winning smile and the sweetest personality. Like her housemates she’s been beautifully taken care of, is social and friendly, seems to be housetrained, sits when asked, softly takes treats from my fingers, and poses for photos like a model. Georgia loves to cuddle and after drinking some water directly from the water fountain (beyond cute), we snuggled and kissed. I tethered Georgia so that I could take some pictures of another dog and she calmly sat and waited watching me work, and every time I glanced at her she was smiling. Love her! On her first off leash play date she romped exuberantly with the helper dog. Georgia licked the behavior assessor’s face during her behavior evaluation – she’s such a social butterfly. I adored everything about her, from her petite little figure to her friendly and enthusiastic personality. I know you will too when you meet her.
09/08/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Georgia came into our center along with 2 similarly sized dogs after being found abandoned in an apartment. She had a loose wiggly body and wagging tail upon intake, allowed all handling. She jumped up to lick assessor’s face during Look item. She leaned into assessor during Sensitivity item, open mouth. Georgia followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, a bit distracted. She was difficult to position for Squeeze item. Once positioned she pulled her paw back on first attempt, moved body away on second attempt. Georgia showed minimal interest in Toy, more interested in interacting with handler. The Behavior Team feels Georgia would do well with an Average adopter, she may benefit from daily mental and physical stimulation in the forms of walks, runs, exercise, and play to positively direct her energy and enthusiasm. Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft or squinty, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 2. Dog follows at the end of the leash, a bit distracted Squeeze 1: 2. Dog pulls back paw Squeeze 2: 3. Dog is soft in body and eye, and moves her legs/body so that the Assessor is unable to hold the paw Toy 1. Minimal interest. Dog may smell or lick toy, then turn away.
09/08/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
09/08/16 When introduced off leash to another dog in the care center, Georgia engages in exuberant, wrestling play. She arrived into our care with two othr dogs, however, no history of their interaction together available. The behavior team feels that Georgia could potentially be adopted to a home with another playful dog pending a successful pre adoption interaction.
