George is described as intelligent, playful and affectionate. He lived in a home with children aged 1, 3 and 5 years old. George is playful with children, allowing them to pet him on his head and back. George also lived with a cat that he would attempt to play with. George will pull towards other dogs that he notices outside so that he can interact with them.
BEHAVIOR
George enjoys playing and jumping up on his family. He is accustomed to being bathed at least 2x a week. He will sit still and allow his owner to bathe him. George enjoys being brushed. He doesn’t react if he is eating and is approached or if his owner attempts to take food from him. George’s owner stated that he is normally quiet at home, but will bark if someone knocks at the door. George is allowed to roam free when left alone in the home. His owner stated that he will chew on paper and random items left on the floor when his owner isn’t around, but he doesn’t destroy furniture. George will approach visitors that enter the home and attempt to play with them.
FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW
George is house trained to use wee wee pads. He is walked outside 2x a day. He enjoys running free in the dog park once a week. He knows the commands “sit” and “paw.” He likes to play with rubber toys. He is fed Blue Buffalo grain free food. He sleeps on a fluffy blanket at night in the living room at night.
DURING INTAKE
George would come running when his name was called. He would wag his tail while jumping up onto the Admissions Counselor’s legs. He would respond well to the commands sit and paw. When another dog entered the adjacent room, he would whimper and stare at the dog. He was collared, scanned for a microchip (negative) and photographed.
