Helper Dog: A1058600 Jean Genie came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Jean was calm and relaxed, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Jean Genie came into the assessment room calm and relaxed, she was friendly, social and affectionate towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Tag interaction was skipped due to her hind legs medical condition, and during paw squeeze test flank was applied due to her leg medical condition and not stable to stand on her hind legs. During the resources portion of the assessment Jean was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Jean Genie appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. Her ears are back, her tail is down, and she has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Flank squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Flank Squeeze 1: 1. Dog does not respond at all. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in toy, dog smells, then turns away. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, and lip neutral.
