A volunteer writes:

My heart stopped when I spotted Gabriela in her arrival kennel…She had just been brought in. I had to meet her…A chocolate Chihuahua . A very elderly dame with a frosted face and still clear eyes. How pretty and girly she was. Gabriela is quite run down, though and comes with the many ailments of age. I was wondering….Can she stand? Can she walk? Let’s try… Will she bite me? You know how little dogs can be..So often scared and acting up…Gabriela is not like that… She accepts my leash. I scoop her up and off we go for a very short walk. To my surprise, she walks, just a bit slowly but surely..And she does her business too…. Wow… Good girl ! A photo shoot is in order. Gabriela is a pretty senior, totally unknown and she now, needs to be discovered… Here she is, the one and only, Gabriela of Manhattan, residing at  326 East 110th street .  Come and meet this beautiful lady and if you are a person who knows and likes to care for seniors, Gabriela is the right pet for you…
