10/19/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Truly the face of a choir boy. I love Fruit Punch’s smile, his big round and gullible eyes and his lovely snow-white face framed by butterscotch ears. I was taken aback by his energy after I leashed him…a real bronco. Are we going to make it to the park? Pullers are not my specialty, and I knowsome other volunteers who would do better than me. We’ll manage. Somehow, we make it to our destination. Fruit Punch squirms a little for the pictures. It is not fun to be tethered to a wall when it would be so much fun to go to the doggy playground…or just even run free or go after a ball. Who needs a leash? I bet this is what is going through Fruit Punch’s head. Let’s settle on a bench! Fruit Punch is a really a nice young guy. True, he is excited, jumps, mouths without applying pressure, but he is also a very friendly dog who comes on the lap and gives his caretaker so much love and kisses. Fruit Punch was indeed one of my two best dates for the day. He was genuine in his feelings, no hidden agenda, a honest man. I had the chance to see Fruit Punch in a playgroup with a lovely and gentle gal. Off leash, he was a totally different dog, collected, calm and just enjoying the moment with a nice peer and friendly staff. Fruit Punch is a nice dog, enthusiastic and a little hyper at times, while completely well mannered at others. I imagine that the latter would be more like it if he was at home, cared for, played with and loved. Fruit Punch is waiting at the Manhattan Care Center to just do what a dog does best…be a loving, loyal and beloved pet. Another volunteer writes: Oh, Fruit Punch! This young dude is just the best–happy to see you, happy to take a walk, happy to sniff every single thing he sees, just happy all the way around! He does pull a bit, but I think Fruit Punch is just one of those guys who has a lot of love for life and just wants to get out there and experience it all! He also has a lot of love for human friends and was very content for me to love on him. He knows “sit”, and once he realized that he could get a treat out of it, Fruit Punch showed me a lot of sitting! This handsome, sweet boy is one of the best!
