Frodo
Hello, my name is Frodo. My animal id is #11367. I am a male brown brindle dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 2 years 2 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 01-Nov-2017.
**6 MONTH QUARATINE REQUIRED – BITE OF UNKNOWN ORIGIN**A private donor has graciously offered $1000 to the New Hope partner that pulls Frodo**
Frodo is at risk for medical concerns, he has been diagnosed with pneumonia. He will require in-hospital care, as well as 6 months isolation plan due to entering the Care Center with bite wounds of unknown origin. Due to illness, there has been no formal Behavior Assessment undertaken, but we have no behavior concerns at this time.

To whom it may concern- Frodo 11367 presented to us with a mass on his neck. It is a round, 2 cm, firm mass with a 1 cm long scab in the center. Inappetant x 2 days with persistent cough; radiographs taken on 11/15 showed mild to moderate perivascular interstitial pattern, concern for possible early pneumonia; started on LRS and cerenia yesterday S/O -BAR, friendly and appears to have good energy level -possible better appetite today but is not taking medications well -mm pk, sl tacky; CRT <2 sec -serous nasal discharge -intermittent honking cough with end gag -eupnic, quiet/normal lung sounds A CIRDC Decreased appetite-possible food aversion due to medications vs pneumonia P recheck tomorrow, if appetite still poor, then will place IVC and treat with IV antibiotics
Has been inappetant with harsh cough for the last 3 days; radiographs on 11/14 showed possible early pneumonia S/O -BAR, appears friendly and energetic -no reported appetite -harsh cough with end gag A CIRDC/pneumonia P -move to medical isolation -place IVC, give 200 ml bolus LRS and then continue at 50 ml/hr -baytril 100 mg/ml: 2 ml IV slowly -ampicillin 250 mg/ml: 1.72 ml IV TID -continue cerenia, IV SID -nebulization therapy -appears stable and at this time I feel comfortable treating him in the shelter but I recommend transfer to another veterinarian after placement prognosis: excellent with treatment
Sedated with 0.4 ml torb/0.3 ml dexdomitor IM for recheck thoracic radiographs due to concern of pneumonia 2 view thoracic radiographs-diffuse interstitial to alveolar pulmonary pattern consistent with pneumonia
Hx: Pneumonia. IVC was placed yesterday, but it went SQ this morning and was removed. Good appetite for dry food. BAR. Nonstop deep coughing. Cage nose from rubbing nose on bars of kennel. New IVC was placed this morning, but pt chewed it out 30 min later. As long as pt is not on IV fluids, okay to move pt out of med iso, to regular isolation, where he will have more space. Continue ampicillin IM BID. Give Baytril IM. Monitor pt closely. Recommend treatment at ICU-level facility. 1088
