Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fritz came into the Care Center on 8/30/16 as a stray, any past behavior in a home is unknown. Behavior during intake: Fritz was apprehensive and would back away from staff; he was nervous but did allow counselor to collar him. During SAFER, Fritz was anxious and actively avoided the assessor by turning his body away, and pulling towards the exit. Fritz was tense upon direct contact. When the assessor attempted the Look item, Fritz became tense and lip curled expressing his intolerance for any contact. Not all tactile items were able to be conducted. Fritz displayed no interest in any of the resource item during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior, the Behavior department feels that placement with a rescue that can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Look: 5.
