07/25/2017 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/25/17 13:46 Blue is a 2 year old altered male that was surrendered to ACC due to a new baby in the home having allergies to him. Around strangers Blue is friendly and outgoing and will engage anyone that he meets, he is also relaxed and playful with various ages of children that he has interacted with. He can be rough when playing with adults and children and sometimes doesnt understand his size and strength. He has not lived with cats so his behavior around them is unknown. When playing with other dogs Blue is described as being exuberant. He has not lived in a home with other dogs. As per the previous owner Blue has never bitten any person or another animal. His previous owner did state that his main behavior concerns were that Blue does tend to Bark to mich, will try running from the house or yard and will destroy stuff in the home when left alone. This has caused the previous owners to crate him, they stated that he is used to the crate but does not like being inside it. During fireworks and storms Blue isnt bothered or startled by the noises. He is afraid and nervous when being given a bath, triming his nails. They also described him as friendly, affectonate, playful, confident & excitable with a high activity level. Their favorite thing about him is that Blue loves to kiss and cuddle. He enjoys running around and playing with his ball. When home Blue will tend to follow you around or be in the same room, he enjoys balls and chew toys/bones. His favorite games are fetch, chase and tug type games. He has been kept mostly indoors and will generally sleep on his own bed. He was fed Pedigree & Blue Food 3x a day and he enjoys beef sticks are rewards. He is house trained and will rarely have accidents if ever. When going to the bathroom he will generally go on the grass or gravel. When left alone he will destroy furniture and walls and he is not left in the yard due to his escape attempts. He knows the commands Sit, Come & Give Paw. For excercise Blue enjoys slow walks and running as well but has the tendancy to pull hard on leash, if left off leash Blue will run away.

Blue will require daily mental and physical activity to keep him engaged and exercised. We recommend daily walks, runs, exercise, and play, as well as food puzzles and long lasting chews to positively direct his energy and enthusiasm. RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced Potential challenges: _X_Destructive behavior – Blue is reported to show destructive behavior when left alone in the home. We are unaware of what, if any, attempts were made to remedy this behavior but we suggest to future adopters that Blue will need to be provided with physical and mental stimulation and with a variety of appropriate and engaging chew toys so he can engage in necessary chewing behavior without damage to human objects. Examples are frozen stuffed Kongs and Nylabon
