05/12/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Frenchie came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Frenchie had very loose body posture, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Frenchie came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly and social towards the assessor. She allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Frenchie joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Frenchie was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Frenchie appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels she can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 1. Dog leans forward or jumps up to lick the Assessor’s face with tail wagging, ears back and eyes averted. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1 & 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. Dog settles down close to chew, will relinquish toy to you.

05/12/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE

Frenchie was surrendered as a stray so her past behavior around other dogs is unknown. When off leash with other dogs at the Care Center, Frenchie greets with a slightly stiff body. Once in the pen, she interacts with the greeter dog, becoming a bit stiff, and wanders the pen.
