Frappuccino
Hello, my name is Frappuccino. My animal id is #15604. I am a female brown dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 3 years 1 weeks old.
I came into the shelter as a aco impound on 07-Dec-2017.
Frappaccino is at risk due to being diagnosed with Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex. Frappaccino will likely require in home care with a course of antibiotics. There are no behavior concerns for Frappacino at this time, average determination.
Let’s get to know each other a bit more…
A volunteer writes:If you like frappucino, you will love our Frappucino, a pretty lady who has it all. She is so attractive in her vanilla and caramel outfit, very playful with the ball and would love to rush into everyone’s lap(even total strangers) for caresses and hugs. She must have been a stunning mom as the six puppies she came in with, are absolutely gorgeous, healthy and ready to start their life on their own. Of course, she was not alone to make them and magnificent Cake Pop had his share in this endeavor. Frappucino is friendly and sociable, quite active, a little torpedo on the leash and likely house trained. She is a lot of fun in the yard, oblivious of the falling snow and the bitter cold. She is a soccer mom, and knows how to deal with a ball. She is pretty good at head shots. She comes when called and sits very nicely on command. The whole family was taught some proper manners before they came to the care center. In playgroups with her peers, she behaves like a “mama dog”, feeling the need to correct any unruly behavior. Frappucino is a lively gal with already some basic training up her sleeve. She will make a great companion to the new owner looking for a fun, loving and active four legged best friend. Frappucino is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center.

ENERGY LEVEL:: We have no history on Frappuccino so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. However, she is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct her energy and enthusiasm.
IN SHELTER OBSERVATIONS:: Frappuccino consistently displays highly social behavior with handlers. She maintains a loose wiggly body throughout interactions and solicits attention from handlers. Frappuccino has shown herself to be highly tolerant of handling, including invasive procedures and restraint.
BEHAVIOR DETERMINATION:: AVERAGE (suitable for an adopter with an average amount of dog experience)
Behavior Asilomar: H – Healthy
Potential challenges: : Basic manners/poor impulse control
Potential challenges comments:: Basic manners/poor impulse control: Frappuccino jumps up on people a lot in a social manner. It is recommended that default behaviors such as “Leave it”, “Sit/Stay”, “Down” are reinforced to substitute any frustration and teach her to control her impulses instead of simply reacting; proper management is also advised. Force-free, reward based training only is recommended.
