A volunteer writes: Soso is the stuff that dreams are made of……deliciously square in shape, a chunky mama in a gorgeous grey coat, a wagging tail and soft eyes. Everyone wants to meet her as we walk and she graciously stops to offer a sweet hello. Alert and watchful she sees everything as we walk, doesn’t mind being tethered for photos and peers around the corner when she hears something of interest. Maybe she’s wondering if that’s her new family just around the corner? Soso is likely housetrained, great on leash, and is a total snuggle girl. Head in lap, snorting with the pleasure of it all and nudging my hand to continue petting her when I stopped. What a lover girl!! She’s such a little tank with the softest, sweetest personality I lost my heart to her in about 10 seconds. Low key, calm, curious and snuggly, this is the girl you want beside you always… to love, to snuggle, to listen to your secrets, to offer up her unconditional love. She’s a gem.
Soso pulls a bit on leash. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment – soft body, low wag. Soso was calm and relaxed during handling. She followed the assessor at the end of the leash during the tag test with a calm and relaxed body language. Soso was not interested in toys.
Soso did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home.
Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions.
Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, neutral wagging tail, open mouth.
Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw.
Squeeze 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw.
Toy 1. No interest.
