I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 01/17/2017 from NY 11208, owner surrender reason stated was BITEPEOPLE.

01/27/17 CIRDC noted on rounds S/O: QAR. Decreased appetite EENT: Nuclear sclerosis, mucoid nasal discharge HL: No coughing or sneezing noted A: CIRDC, senior pet, pyoderma P: Rec doxycycline 1.5ml po q24 x 10 days. Excellent prognosis 01/18/17 Scleral hemorrhage S/O: QARH. Allowed all handling. BCS 3/5 EENT: Mild dental tartar/gingivitis, missing few teeth (notable lower right incisors, tongue sticks out right side), nuclear sclerosis OU, scleral hemorrhage OU, no ocular or nasal discharge, ears wnl HL: Normal thoracic auscultation, no murmurs/arrhythmias, lungs clear ABD: Normal abdominal palpation INTEG: Long coat, slightly matted and discolored around hind end, superficial wound at left inguinal region with mild serosanguinous discharge, mild thickening of ventrum MS: Ambulatory x 4, no apparent lameness UG: No spay scar seen or palpated, slightly enlarged mammary glands, mild discharge from nipples, serous and dark brown in color A: Scleral hemorrhage – R/O trauma vs pulling on leash; unkempt hair coat and minor wound, mild dermatitis of ventrum P: Cleaned wound with nolvasan. 01/17/17 19:11 Fluffy is a 9 year old Spayed, Shih Tzu mix, she came to the previous owner’s home from a previous owner. The owner had Fluffy for 2 week before they surrendered her because she habit to bite and snap, at the owner. Fluffy has no known health issues or injures, and has not recently been seen by the vet. Socialization: Around Strangers Fluffy is Shy at first but after a few minutes she becomes playful but loses interest after a while. Fluffy has been around children of ages 1-4 years old. She does not really play she, mostly keeps to herself. She has never been around other dogs or cats. She has bitten the owner on the hand while the owner was trying to put down her food bowl. Behavior: If an individual tries to put their hand in or attempt to touch Fluffy’s food or bowl she will snap and bite. Fluffy is not interested in toys and usually does not play with them. When an unfamiliar person or family member comes near the house or her owner she is shy and will run behind owner’s leg. For a new family: Fluffy was described as Friendly, shy at times, and mellow by her previous family. She has a Medium activity level and spends most of her days sleeping and eating Fluffy is feed dry pedigree and house food two times a day. When the owner is home she tends to stay in her favorite spot, in front of the owner’s bedroom door. Fluffy is not house trained and has accidents every other day in the home. Fluffy is mostly kept indoors and goes out side to use the bathroom twice a day in the cement. When left alone she is well-behaved, and has never been crate trained. For exercise she goes on slow walks on leash, twice a day. Admission behavior: When the counselor approached Fluffy, she was shaking and sniffed counselor hand but allowed counselor to pet her. During intake she slightly But allowed the counselor to pick her up to take a photo and collar her with no issue.

KNOWN HISTORY: Full profile 1/17/17 Unaltered Female, Owner surrender (2 weeks in previous home) Previously lived with: Adults and has been around children(ages 1-4 years old) Behavior toward strangers: Shy at first but becomes playful and loses interest fast. Behavior toward children: Not much interested, stays to herself. Behavior toward dogs: Unknown Behavior toward cats: Unknown Resource guarding: Yes, If an individual tries to put their hand in or attempt to touch Fluffy’s food or bowl she will snap and bite. Bite history: Yes, the owner was putting Fluffy’s food bowl down on the floor when, Fluffy approached the owner slowly and bite her left middle finger leaving one small superficial wound. Housetrained: No Energy level/descriptors: Other notes: Upon intake Fluffy was a bit nervous but did allowed all handling. SAFER ASSESSMENT: 1/24/17 Look: 1. Dog holds gaze with soft eyes, soft body. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Dog holds gaze for three full seconds. Sensitivity:1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag:1. Follows at end of leash, body soft. Squeeze 1& 2: 1. Dog gently pulls back her paw. Toy: 1. No interest. Summary: Fluffy was friendly and social towards the assessor. PLAYGROUP: Summary MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 1/17/17 During her medical examination, Fluffy was a little nervous, tense but tolerated handling. ENERGY LEVEL: RECOMMENDATIONS: Experience (Suitable for an adopter with a previous amount of dog experience) _X_No young children (under 5) Potential challenges: _X_Resource guarding (Fluffy previous owner notes that she may growl when her food bowl is approached.
