I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 12/20/2016 from NY 10453, owner surrender reason stated was MOVE2PRIVA.

12/20/16 16:24 BASIC INFO Fluffy A1100181 is an approximately 8 year old Maltese/Chihuahua Mix. He was a gift to the owner from friend’s 8 years ago. The main reason for surrender is that the owner is moving to a place where pets are not allowed. fluffy does not have any health concerns and according to the owner, was last seen by a Veterinarian last year for a regular check up and shots. SOCIALIZATION Fluffy is very fearful and shy around strangers. He lunges when being approached by a stranger. he has lived with 2 young children and he was relaxed, playful and respectful of the children. Fluffy plays gentle with children and adults alike. Fluffy has never bitten anyone. BEHAVIOR Fluffy does not have any behavior concerns. He allows you to take away his food bowl, water bowl, or toy away. He is not bothered if pushed off of furniture or restrained. If an unfamiliar approaches the owner or doorway, he sniffs at the air. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Fluffy is best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a high activity level. When home, he follows you around. He enjoys playing with any dog toy. He enjoys to play fetch. He has been kept mostly indoors. He is wee wee pad trained. fluffy is fed Alpo dry dog food. He sleeps in a crate. The crate is an open door crate where he comes and goes as he pleases. When home alone, he is well behaved. For exercise Fluffy runs loose in the home. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Fluffy snapped at the Admissions counselors, but ultimately allowed handling and photos.

Minimal, sniffs, but does not fully engage Summary: Fluffy solicited attention from assessor, would lightly place front paws up and lick assessor’s face though snapped when attempting to collar. Fluffy may benefit best from placement with a New hope rescue who can further assess this behavior in a stable environment.
