02/09/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Flora came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Flora was nervous and tense with her tailed tucked, she allowed limited handling. During SAFER Flora came into the assessment room nervous and tense, she was not interested with the assessor. Not all handling items were able to be conducted as Flora growled and bared her teeth at the assessor when attempting to collar her. She displayed no interest in the toy item during this portion of the assessment. In light of this behavior we feel that placement with a rescue who can provide positive reinforcement-based behavior modification is the best option at this time. Toy: 1. No interest. Dog-dog: Flora was too uncomfortable, offering lip curls and head whips towards the handler, to be collared safely for playgroup. However, she was introduced to the helper dog through the gate and greeted with a soft body, but with her body tucked under.
