Coughing Subjective: Intact male dog, coughing with heart murmur Observed Behavior – Was calm during physical examination. He tried to bite when he was placed on lateral recumbency for radiographs. Objective T = 102F P = 120 bpm R = panting BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, clear watery nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: dental tartar. PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: Harsh lung sounds, CRT < 2 sec, TYPE 3 CARDIAC MURMUR ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Intact male MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, no masses noted, healthy hair coat CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: not performed Radiographs- Enlarged heart, bronchial Assessment Cardiac murmur- COPD vs CIRDC vs collapsing trachea vs combination Harsh lung sounds Dental tartar Plan Place in medical Rescue group. 1 ml doxycycline SID PO for 10 days Recheck lungs SID Prognosis: guarded Permanently waived for for due to heart murmur.

Flint was surrendered as a stray so his past behavior around dogs is unknown.
7/2: When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Flint mostly keeps to himself in a group of small male and female dogs. He is tolerant of the other dogs’ face to face greetings.
