01/13/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fifty came in as a stray, so her past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Fifty was energetic and mouthy with loose body posture, she allowed all handling. During SAFER Fifty came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, she was friendly, social and playful towards the assessor, allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Fifty was easily aroused with her body a bit tense, mouths the leash and slowly de-escalates during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Fifty was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Fifty appears to be a high-energy dog that will likely do best with an adopter prepared to provide mental and physical stimulation and appropriate outlets for his energy. The behavior department feels she can be suitable for an experience adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog leans into the Assessor, eyes soft, soft and loose body, open mouth. Tag: 3. Dog gets easily aroused body a bit tense, mouths the leash and slowly de-escalates. Squeeze 1 & 2: 2. Dog quickly pulls back. Toy: 1. Dog settles close, keeps a firm grip and is loose and wiggly. She does not place her body between you and the toy. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Fifty greets with a loose, bouncy body and muzzle sniff. She solicits and engages in polite, soft bouncy play.
01/12/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs, Fifty greets with a loose, bouncy body and muzzle sniff. She solicits and engages in polite, soft bouncy play. 1/14 update: Fifty is a high energy player who lacks some appropriate play skills. She also is very vocal while playing and may draw out reactivity from a play partner with her vocalization while playing. 1/16 update: Fifty greets the other dog with a soft body at the gate. Once the gate is open she solicits play while being vocal but eventually becomes uncomfortable and corrects playful behavior.
