07/15/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Fee Fi Fo Fum, It’s Fifa and we’re having a pool party!! This gorgeous little girl with the ginormus rabbit ears, award winning smile and stunning silvery coat is the perfect buddy for a pool party. Diving in head first she lies down, splashes around and is clearly having a ball! Surrendered by her family as they are no longer able to care for her, we’re told she’s social and outgoing with strangers, lived with young children and is playful, lived with another female dog and was playful, doesn’t guard her things, and surprisingly doesn’t like baths. She’s housetrained, used to being walked 2-3 times a day, is active and likes all kinds of toys. I loved playing with Fifa, she’s fun, alert, loved playing with tennis balls and toys earlier in the day, and of course when I filled the pool she was my first customer! Fifa loves going into playgroups, soliciting play and bouncing around. Fifa is ready for a fun, active home where there’s playtime, lots of love, and toys. She’s such a sweet girl, the perfect size, nicely taken care of and ready to begin her happily ever after with you.

07/13/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Fifa was brought in as an owner’s surrender on 7/11/2016. It is reported Fifa lived with an 8 and 9 year old child, playful but sometimes plays a bit rough due to her size. She reportedly lived with another female dog, two were playful with each other. Owner reports Fifa isn’t bothered if anyone touches her Food, Toys, Treats. Fifa is reportedly trained to use the bathroom outside and owner says she never has accidents. She behaved when in the yard alone, and has been crate-trained in the past. Fifa understands cues sit, stay, go, down and a whistle to become alert. Fifa is described as friendly, confident, and affectionate with a high activity level. Fifa was friendly during intake; she allowed all handling and accepted treats. Fifa pulled a bit on leash for her relief walk, darting side to side. She was friendly upon entering SAFER assessment room, but began demand barking to solicit attention. She shoulder rubbed during positioning for Look item, pulled out of assessor’s hands on all three attempts. Fifa stood still and accepted the touch during Sensitivity item, lip lick, ears neutral. She followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, playful mid game, unresponsive to the touch. She was difficult to position for Squeeze item, jumping up on assessor/shoulder rub, once positioned she did not pull her paw back on both attempts. Fifa playfully engaged with Toy, keeping a firm grip with loose body. When off leash with other dogs, Fifa takes a moment to warm up, then bows, barks, and spins to solicit. The Behavior Team feels Fifa would do best with an Experienced adopter prepared to provide plenty of mental and physical exercise. She may benefit from obedience classes to learn leash manners as well as body awareness and focus. Look: 3. Dog jumps on the Assessor, consistently rubs her shoulder on the Assessor, pulls out on all three attempts. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, her tail is between her legs, mouth closed, likely back, lip lick. Tag: 2. 07/12/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Fifa has displayed mild interest in engaging in play with other dogs. However due to limited observation, the behavior team does recommend pre-adoption interaction and slow introduction to another social, resident dog. Fifa arrived with the following information from her owner: “e lived with another female dog and owner says the two were playful and loving with each other”. 7/12: When off leash with other dogs, Fifa takes a moment to warm up, then bows, barks, and spins to solicit. 7/13: Fifa anxiously runs throughout the pen and does not display much interest in the other dog. 7/14: Fifa solicits with paw slaps and bows. 7/15 update: Fifa engages in bouncy running play with an exuberant male. She offers correction when he is overly mouthy. 7/16 update: Fifa continues to be solicitous and bouncy. If mounted, she will attempt to engage the male in play rather than correct. 7/17: Fifa briefly solicits play, then roams around when not reciprocated.
