GONE 07/03/16 **ON LIST AGAIN. AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION** Fetty is still very much a puppy at only a year old. Sadly his owner passed away and the person who took him in is unable to keep him. Fetty is friendly around adults and children but could benefit from training and socialization so he can learn how to make friends with other dogs. An experienced owner is needed tonight to give Fetty the chance to be the best dog he can be. He is young and he can learn but he needs time, patience and love……three things the shelter cannot give him. His time is up tomorrow at noon unless someone steps up to help tonight. Fetty needs his entire Urgent Family to advocate for him if he is to live to see another day.

07/01/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
7/1 update: Fetty has shown concerning reactivity when being walked near or past other dogs. He pulls hard to get toward them, hackles raised and vocalizing; he is unable to be distracted but will refocus on the handler once the dog is out of sight. He has also become increasingly more sexually motivated when off leash with other dogs and is unable to be distracted, typically resulting in his removal from the yard. The behavior department feels that he can go to an experienced home that will follow up on these behaviors with other dogs. We also recommend a home without young children; older children can be considered pending interaction. 6/30 SAFER: Fetty pulls hard on the leash. He was excited but very interested in interacting with handler during assessment – jumped up, mouthy (moderate). He was excited during some of the handling items, but had soft body language. Fetty was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test but he became mouthy at the end of the game (moderate). He took the toy with a soft body language. Fetty was surrender to us. According to his previous owner Fetty is friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a high activity level. Fetty is friendly around strangers. He briefly backs up when offered correction from the other dog. 6/30: Fetty initially attempts to mount, and only ceases at the very end of the interaction after repeated correction from the helper dog. 7/1 update: Fetty is highly sexually motivated but is not offered correction from the greeter dog.
