DVM Intake Exam; Estimated age: ~16 yrs ; Microchip noted on Intake? scanned negative by LVT on intake. MC placed on intake.  History : Surrendered by O. Reported to have had vaginal bleeding last week; it has since decreased to only spotting, according to person surrendering.  Subjective / Observed Behavior – BAR; did not allow handling. Attempted to bite VA when removed from kennel. Trying to flee by repeated pawing at handler, pawing at muzzle, urinated on herself.   Objective ; BCS 4/9; EENT: Cataracts, OU; ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted; Oral Exam: dc 3/5; pd 3/5 ; PLN: No enlargements noted; H/L: 4/6 L systolic murmur ausculted; CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic; ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated; U/G: intact female. 2 mammary masses palpated in right mammary chain. both ~1cm in diameter. no vaginal discharge seen.  MSI: Ambulatory x 4, skin free of parasites, wound rostral to left ear. ~1inch in diameter with yellow discharge and a healthy crust ; CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities; Rectal: grossly normal.  Assessment; geriatric ; dental disease ; cataracts, OU; heart murmur ; mammary gland tumors ; wound ; Prognosis: fair ; Plan: ok for adoption or placement ; recommend oncology and cardiology work-up ; clavamox 62.5mg tablet — give 1 tablet PO q12h x 7 days ; SURGERY: permanent waiver due to age
