03/08/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/08/16 15:26 Behavior during intake: This dog was visibly nervous during the intake process. The dog was collared by the owner. She did growl and bare teeth a lot. I was able to take her photo with no issue. Basic Information: Falkora is a 6 year old female Maltese mix. Her last owner had her since she was a small puppy. She was surrendered to MACC because she has a skin issue that the owner could not keep up with. Socialization: Around strangers Falkora is a little nervous at first but she can warm up if she wants to. She has lived with one child who was 10 years old but she was not great with the child. She would growl often when the child came close or tried to pet her. Falkora is playful when she wants to be according to her owner. She has never been around any other animals. Behavior History: Falkora did bite her owner back in 2013. The owner states that the dog often growls when anyone pets her. Falkora is a very vocal dog and she often snaps and growls at what seem to be totally random times. During fireworks or thunder storms she will bark a lot. She gets very nervous. Falkora doesn’t seem to mind if her food bowl is touched while she is eating but she will bark, growl or even snap if a treat or toy is taken from her. She also growls in the bath tub. For a new family to know: Falkora is described as affectionate on her own terms. She is also known to get very anxious. Her activity level is pretty low. When her owner is home she normally will be in the same room with them unless she is hungry then she will follow close behind. This dog loves to chase a ball. She likes to sleep on a rug in the bathroom. Falkora is trained to go to the bathroom on wee wee pads and she is very good. She has never been crated. She knows how to sit on command.

03/10/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Snowflake came into our center as an owner surrender citing dog’s skin issues. Owner reports Snowflake lived with a 10 year old child, would growl if the child came too close or tried to pet her. It is reported she is initially nervous around strangers but will warm up. It is reported she may snap and growl at the owner without much warning. Owner reports she is not bothered if anyone touches her Food, Toys, Treats. Owner reports Snowflake is housebroken on wee wee pads in the home and has never been crate trained. Owner describes Snowflake as affectionate on her own terms.. During intake, Snowflake growled and bared teeth, but allowed handling. Snowflake walked nicely on leash for her relief walk, no pulling. She raised lip and growled during collaring for the SAFER assessment, therefore the tactile portions were skipped. Snowflake showed minimal interest in Toy, though this may be due to environment as owner reports she loves to chase a ball. When off leash with other dogs, Falkora greets politely and roams the pen. Snowflake must be placed with a New Hope partner. She may do best in a calm, quiet, structured environment so she can relax and know what to expect in her new home. Toy 1. Minimal interest. Dog smells, licks and mouths, then walks away. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Falkora greets politely and roams the pen.
