11/06/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: An elegant gentledog, a grey muzzle is waiting patiently in his kennel. I love his brindle coat weaved in the shades of sable and oyster. His face is round and mushy and his dark brown eyes are not wary to meet mine. He accepts a scarf around his neck, wondering, I think what it is all about. He is clearly a bit lost finding himself in a shelter environment when he has clearly been a well cared pet all his life.Falkor is a bit slow exiting his kennel but picks up speed greatly as we stroll around the block. He eliminates in one stop without marking, sniffs a lot his surroundings, ignores the pigeons and is cool nearing other dogs. He loves being in the park and rolls himself in the grass. That is for sure alleviating all the stress he has inside him…Back to the care center, Falkor is a tired but happier dog. He hops on the bench, accepts caresses and although he did not want any of my treats at the begining of our time together, he chomps gladly dry chicken strips…Falkor is definitively more comfi and accepted me in his circle of friends..Indeed, he already has a few admirers and caretakers at the care center. In a one playgroup with his peers, Falkor was a little nervous but did offer a sniff and a brief wag when he felt more at ease). It is quite tough for an older chap to be severed from his/her home after many years of service and it is no wonder that the elderly takes time to fall back on its four. We all join to tell our Falkor..”to never give up and good luck will find you…” A home sweet home is what he will need very soon. Let’s hope that his wish will come true.
