07/05/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/05/16 15:38 Basic Info: Envy A1079941 is an 8yr old spayed female tan & white Am Staff mix who was given to the owner from a family member 8yrs ago and is being surrendered along with her sister Hailey A1079930 & brother Tyson A1079962 (euthanasia request) due to the owner moving out of state and not being able to take them with them. They were both last seen by a veterinarian several years ago and currently have no known health issues/injuries. Socialization: Around strangers Envy is friendly & outgoing. She’s lived with children ages 4yrs-7yrs old and was gentle, exuberant, relaxed, playful with them also with Hailey, Tyson & the adults in the home. Envy has never bitten/scratched any person but would sometimes pick fight (rough play) with Hailey along with Tyson (no skin or bleeding occured). Behavior: Envy isn’t bothered by the following: having her food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being moved off of furniture, being brushed, being bathed or being disturbed while sleeping/resting. She hasn’t had her nails trimmed. If someone approaches the home/family member Envy will bark initially but is welcoming most of the times. For A New Family to Know: Envy is described as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, excitable & independent with a medium-high activity level. The owner likes how well behaved indoors she is. Envy enjoys playing, rope, ball toys and games of fetch, chase, wrestling & tug. Envy is an indoor/outdoor dog that sleeps in a crate or around the home. She has access to the backyard through a doggy door, is well behaved indoors and outdoors & is housebroken. Envy eats dry Eukanuba 2-3x a day. The owner stated they never took Envy, Hailey or Tyson for walks outside and they were only socialized with the family and each other. Intake Behavior: Envy allowed all handling. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of including positioning her during her photo session which was a little difficult as she was very wiggly. Envy then walked alongside me and into the kennel on her own.

A volunteer writes: Looking for a tried and true family dog? An easy girl who’s lived with young kids, other dogs, doesn’t guard her things, is housetrained, crate trained, well behaved when left home alone, loves to play with toys and play chase and tug? Envy is here waiting for you!!! Resting on her bed when I came to meet her, she was a bit shy at first but warmed up quickly with some treats and sweet talk. Enter her favorite staff person and Envy is all tail wags and smiles recognizing a friend. Her leash manners are excellent, and she showed off her housetraining skills the moment we were out the door. Envy gets silly and bouncy, loves getting a good butt scratch, loves a good hug from a friend, takes treats gently and is simply just a big schmushy lover girl! Her family moved without her and she’s doing the best she can in a new strange environment. She’s currently accepting applications for a new family to love and hopes you submit yours quickly. Do it today!

07/07/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Envy has displayed interest in greeting and engaging in bouts of play with other dogs. She takes time to become comfortable with some select dogs. The behavior department recommends a pre-adoption interaction for Envy before placement with a resident dog. Slow, positive introductions are highly encouraged. Envy arrived into our care with 2 other dogs from the same home. The previous owner describes that she engages in “rough play”, however also does say that Envy “picks fights” unfortunately without further details on any conflict in the home. Due to this limited history, this should still be taken into consideration. 7/7: When off leash with other dogs, Envy displays a slightly tense body with hackles raised. When the greeter dog begins to solicit play, Envy becomes less tense and begins to ‘tap dance’ around him. 7/8 update: Envy greets and will tap around the helper dog but does not fully engage in play. 7/9 update: Envy is a bit tense when greeting a female but relaxes then engages in bouncy play with both males and females. 7/10: Envy continues to engage in bouncy play! 7/12, 13: Envy is playful and solicitous. 7/14: Envy continues to engage with males females.
