Evidence of Cruelty seen -no Evidence of Trauma seen -no Objective P = 120 R = wnl BCS: 4/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted
Oral Exam: tartar on upper pre-molars, otherwise teeth in good shape. PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Non painful, distended, possible caudal organo-megaly (pyo?) U/G: female intact, mammary glands are slightly developed. Mucopurulent vaginal discharge. MSI: Ambulatory x 4 , skin free of parasites, no masses noted, ok/dirty hair coat CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment: Older F/I pitbull with vaginal discharge, distended abdomen, dehydrated: rule out open pyo vs other Prognosis: guarded for now Plan: 500 ml LRS SQ Run CBC/Chem/TT4 and take abdominal radiographs to begin with. continue to onitor at ACC SURGERY: Pend diagnostic results: temporary surgical waiver.

How is this dog around children? Envy has spent time around children in the home she is relaxed and affectionate. When playing with children she is gentle.

Resource guarding: If someone was to touch Envy’s food treats or toys she is friendly. She isnt bothered if she is restrained pushed off the couch or disturbed while she sleeps.

For a New Family to Know: Finder described Envy as friendly affectionate and mellow. When at home she likes to be in her favorite spot. Envy has been kept mostly indoors and eats wet food.
Behavior Notes: During intake Envy was not feeling well. She was lying on the floor but allowed the counselor to pet, put a collar on an take her pictures with no problems.

CBC: WBC: 104, lymphocytosis, monocytosis, neutrophilia. Mild anemia: 26% : rule out secondary to chronic infection.
Chem: elevated BUN (67 mg/dl), elevated Globulins (6.4 g/dl), elevated phosphorus (12.8 mg/dl). TT4: within normal limits Xrays: pending A: suspect pyometra vs other intra-abdominal infectious/inflammatory process vs metabolic. P: 1. xrays 2. iv catheter: begin LRS @ 125 ml / hr until this pm. 3. Enrofloxacin: 100 mg SQ BID (use 100mg/ml suspension) 4. Schedule for Surgery ASAP
