PLAYGROUP: In groups of calm male and female dogs, Emma Frost is a little nervous, soft and explores the pens while keeping to herself. Emma Frost was brought in as a stray so her past behavior around other dogs is unknown. The Behavior Department believes that Emma Frost may be placed with polite and respectful resident dogs that match her calm energy level. INTAKE BEHAVIOR 9/11/17: Upon intake Emma Frost was very friendly, loose and wiggly, she allowed all handling. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 9/12/17: During her medical examination, Emma was active and friendly, she allowed all handling. ENERGY LEVEL: We have no history on Emma Frost so we cannot be certain of her behavior in a home environment. However, she is a young, enthusiastic, social dog who will need daily mental and physical activity to keep her engaged and exercised. We recommend long-lasting chews, food puzzles, and hide-and-seek games, in additional to physical exercise, to positively direct her energy and enthusiasm.
RECOMMENDATIONS: Experienced adopter, adult-only home _X_No children (under 13)- Due to the behavior seen in the care center, Emma Frost becomes tense when removing the toy item. We feel that children may not respect this warning. We feel that an adult-only home would be most beneficial at this time. Potential challenges: _X_Resource guarding- Emma Frost is reported to become stiff over toy resource. It is important to leave Emma alone while she is playing and never to take anything directly from her mouth. When she is asked to drop something, she should be traded for an item of equal or higher value, in order to reward Emma for relinquishing the item she has.
