A volunteer writes:

“You have to meet Eloise. She is soooo cute.” “There’s a beautiful little brindled girl who just arrived you have to meet her!” “Have you met Eloise yet?? She is the sweetest thing.” Our little Eloise may not live in the “room on the tippy-top floor” but I do find her in a tippy-top kennel. Even before I’m close enough to spy her name or that brindle, I know this is the Eloise of which so many speak by that wiggle, wiggle, wiggle that seems to never end. So overcome with excitement at the prospect of a walk is miss E that her kennel properly vibrates her long tail swinging left to right. She is easily lifted down – light and sweet as a cocoa marshmallow – and of we go to unleash her charms on the rest of New York City. “Awww.” “OMG…” “Cute!”  The same refrain and only more fame as our Eloise in NYC hops along. Free in a pen our little princess enjoys cuddles and pets as any pampered girl should with or without a room at the Plaza. And when the time for treats rolls around she looks up at me with those perfect puppy dog eyes and sits expectantly at my feet. Now our Eloise is a little bit thin so treats – she does sometimes grab them. But you’ll have no trouble forgiving this precocious darling with just another bat of those eyes. When it’s time to head inside little E’s not quite ready. She stops at the stairs, this time without airs, and right away I know what’s coming. As I swing open the door, carrying our little marshmallow in my arms like a brindlicious baby, of course we’re stopped right away, “OMG. Is that Eloise!?” And, at last, it’s time for bed. Eloise is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan ACC.
