Hello, my name is Edgar. My animal id is #11201. I am a male tan dog at the Manhattan Animal Care Center. The shelter thinks I am about 8 years old.
I came into the shelter as a stray on 30-Oct-2017.
Edgar is at risk due to medical condition. Edgar is possibly diabetic and has dermatitis. At this time there are no known medical concerns for Edgar.

3 mL blood drawn from right front cephalic vessel using a 25G butterfly catheter and 3mL syringe.
Patient was sedated for radiographs to check for uroliths. Sedation used was 0.2mL dexdomitor and 0.2mL Butorphanol- which were both given intramuscularly. A lateral radiograph was taken. Patient was bathed with malaseb shampoo due to skin condition. Patient also had nails trimmed and his ears cleaned. Reversed sedation with 0.1mL Antiseden IM.

Scanned neg – MC placed History : Stray, found on a rooftop Subjective: Alert, walks around, barks in kennel. Urinated prior to exam and then started drinking it. Polyuric. Observed Behavior – Friendly, wagged tail, allowed all handling Objective BAR-H, MMs pink and moist, BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears clean, no nasal or ocular discharge noted Oral Exam: Moderate dental disease. Retained left and right maxillary deciduous canine teeth. PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, Lungs clear, eupnic ABD: Soft, non painful, no masses palpated U/G: Male intact MSI: Has plantigrade stance. Tendon slips or clicks in left hock when it is flexed. Moderate medial buttressing in both hocks, but no patellar luxation appreciated. Entire dorsum is alopecic, crusty and erythematous. CNS: Mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Rectal: Normal externally. Assessment: 1. Dermatological issues – R/O Cushing’s, fleas, other ectoparasites, endocrine disease 2. Pollakiuria/polyuric – R/O diabetes, UTI, bladder stones, CKD, other 3. Edgar arrived inside a carrier to MACC. He growled at the admissions counselor and lay on the rear end of the carrier. The admissions counselor entice him to come out with treats. He was receptive to treats and allowed all handling.
Basic Information:: Edgar arrived to MACC as a stray. He was found in a building and was transported by the NYPD. Not much information is known about him.

Look:: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. Allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands.
Sensitivity:: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, eyes are averted, and tail is in neutral position with a relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item.
Tag:: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog might jump on Assessor once play begins.

Summary:: Edgar approached the assessor in the assessment room with a soft body and jumped up, soliciting attention. He was social with the assessor, allowed all handling, and displayed no concerning behavior.
