09/03/16 13:28 Basic Information: Eddie is a 13 year old male Yorkie that does have medical issue with his teeth that the owner is aware of. He has seen a vet for the teeth issue and had some of them pulled by the vet. Owner has had Eddie since he was born because he was a breeder. Socialization: According to the owner, around strangers, Eddie is friendly and outgoing. Around adults and children, Eddie is relaxed, respectful and playful. He plays in a gentle manner with adults and children. Eddie has been living with a small dog and has interacted with other dogs outside of the home and he is relaxed, respectful and very playful. Eddie enjoys playing with other dogs in and gentle manner. Eddie has been exposed to cats and behavior was relaxed and playful. He has never bitten a person or another animal.

09/06/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE

Eddie came into our center as an owner surrender on 9/2/2016. Eddie has been living with a small dog and has interacted with other dogs outside of the home as well as children and cats, relaxed and respectful. He was friendly and allowed all handling during intake. Eddie was calm and quiet upon entering SAFER assessment area. He allowed his head to be cupped in assessor’s hands, relaxed. Eddie was a bit tense during Sensitivity item, slight lip lick, ears and tail neutral. He followed at the end of the leash for Tag game, body soft. Eddie did not pull back his paw on both Squeeze attempts. He showed no interest in Toy. Eddie approached the helper dog at an appropriate pace, tail at spine level, relaxed. The Behavior Team feels Eddie would do best with an Experienced adopter. Look: 1. Dog’s eyes are averted. His ears are back, his tail is down, and he has a relaxed body posture. Dog allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 2. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, his tail is between his legs, body tense, mouth closed, lip long, ears likely back, lip lick. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft Squeeze 1 / 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are back. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, lip neutral.
