I am a female black labrador retr and dutch shepherd mix. The shelter thinks I am about 10 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/25/2016 from NY 11207, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

11/26/16 Geriatric, mass S/O: QARH. Nervous, tense. BCS 3/5 EENT: Mild dental tartar/gingivitis, nuclear sclerosis OU, no ocular or nasal discharge, ears wnl H/L: Normal thoracic auscultation; no murmurs/arrhythmias, lungs clear INTEG: WNL M/S: Ambulatory x 4 U/G: Female, ~5cm firm, irregular, non-ulcerated tumor at right caudal mammary gland A: Geriatric, mammary gland tumor P: Rec full geriatric work up with placement. Poor prognosis

11/25/16 14:15 Eastwood was reactive when the leashed was placed over his head and began to struggle and alligator roll. Counselor with the assistance of a handler was able to walk him into the shelter. He had a tense body and growled when approached. Eastwood attempted to bite the leash and refused to walk. Eastwood was scanned (negative) was not collared due to temperment during intake.

KNOWN HISTORY: N/A Unaltered, stray Other notes: During intake, Eastwood appeared to struggle upon handling and attempted to bite the leash when encouraged to walk throughout the shelter. She appeared tense throughout. SAFER ASSESSMENT: 11/29/16 Summary: Eastwood bared her teeth at the assessor when attempting to coax/pet her. Handling items were not conducted due to this clear discomfort with close interaction. PLAYGROUP: Eastwood was surrendered as a stray so her past behavior around dogs is unknown. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Eastwood keeps to herself as she explores in the pen in groups consisting of calm male and female large dogs as well as little dogs. The Behavior Department recommends that Eastwood be placed in a home with dogs that match her calm energy level. MEDICAL BEHAVIOR: 11/25/16 During her initial medical examination, Eastwood appeared tense and struggled with handling. RECOMMENDATIONS: New Hope Only _X_Place with a New Hope partner: Due to Eastwood’s discomfort and timidity, we recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can address her medical conditions and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment post-treatment. Eastwood was surrendered as a stray so her past behavior around dogs is unknown. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Eastwood keeps to herself as she explores in the pen in groups consisting of calm male and female large dogs as well as little dogs. The Behavior Department recommends that Eastwood be placed in a home with dogs that match her calm energy level. 11/26: Eastwood is nervous as she greets as she greets a novel male dog with a lowered head and tucked tail. She keeps to herself as she wanders in a group of calm male and female dogs, displaying looks aways when the other dogs greet her face to face. 11/29: When off leash in a group of small male and female dogs, Eastwood keeps to herself as she explores the pen.
