A volunteer writes: Our fairy tale begins with “Once Upon A Time”….and hopefully ends with “And then she lived happily ever after”. Dutchess was left with a friend, and when her owner never returned for her she was brought to our care. We’re told that Dutchess got along well with her children, and is allergic to corn and Pedigree food. It’s clear that Dutchess has skin issues; her coat is thin and patchy, she has an ear infection, and is a bit too thin. Despite having seen better days physically she is as regal and gentle as her name. Dutchess sits for a treat without being asked and takes it gently. She’s likely housetrained, is good on leash and allowed me to put a coat on her wearing it like the royalty she is. She loves to snuggle, draping herself in my lap and giving me gentle kisses. I fell in love with this sweet girl who needs some TLC. I know that her “happily ever after” will be grand, she’ll be gorgeous and be an amazing addition to her new family. Dogs know who their heroes are and Dutchess is looking for hers…..
PROFILE :
Dutchess A1062169 is an est. 2yrs old female chocolate colored female AMPBT mix who was left with the finder by the owner 3wks ago. She is currently experiencing a skin condition and she’s allegedly allergic to corn and Pedigree dry & wet food are especially no good for her. Dutchess got along well with a 10 & 16yr old. She was walked 2-3x a day, but did “go” if someone didn’t walk her. Dutchess slept on a linen in the living room and enjoys squeaky, stuffed & ball toys.
During intake Dutchess had a loose wiggly body. She allowed all handling. Dutchess allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of. She loved the dried liver treats and took them gently. Dutchess jumped onto my lap for hugs & kisses and walked into her kennel on her own with ease.
