01/22/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Who does not like to be welcomed by a waggy tail and kisses on the hand? That is just what I got when I went to fetch Dr Dre for a walk. Dr Dre is one good looking young fellow, smartly dressed in a shiny and well groomed oreo coat. He has been well cared for and his weight is just perfect. On the way to the street, Dr Dre salutes a few staff and accepts caresses. Walking around the block was not a piece of cake as Dr Dre had to smell every nook and cranny. He is trying to situate himself in his new premises and neighborhood and put his mark too. He pulls in a non-aggressive way toward other dogs but is recalled immediately and easily with a sound or a treat. He is a pretty easy going kind of guy. I was told that he performed quite well in playgroup with his peers. Free in a pen, he comes when called, sits very nicely on command and takes treats politely from my hand. He is, in general, pretty calm and collected for a young man, and very much likes the attention and love from his caretaker. Dr Dre is an elegant youngster, sociable and friendly, who passed his behavioral evaluation with flying colors. He is waiting at the Manhattan Care Center to start a new page in his life with… you, as your forever best friend.

01/19/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
Dr. Dre engages in bouncy running play with female dogs (he has not yet been introduced to a male). He solicits by offering bows and paw slaps. When play ceases, however, he may attempt to mount; he is currently unaltered. He entered the care center as a stray so his in-home behaviors are unknown. Based on these observations the behavior department feels that Dr. Dre could go to a home with another playful female, but a pre-adoption interaction for a male dog is recommended. When off leash with other dogs, Dr. Dre greets, is playful, bouncy, uses his paws to solicit. 1/20 update: Dr. Dre engages in bouncy running play with a group of female dogs. However, once the more playful dog exits the yard, he becomes more focused on mounting.
