Medical Summary  okay to exam but lunged and snapped during intake before med exam. muzzled  P = 80 R =stertor BCS 5/9 EENT: Eyes clear, ears brown d/c, no nasal discharge noted Oral Exam: limited. underbite. clean teeth PLN: No enlargements noted H/L: NSR, NMA, CRT < 2, stertorous breathing–breed typical ABD: Non painful, no masses palpated U/G: intact. purulent d/c from penis MSI: foul smell to skin. dermatitis dentral neck, intertrigo CNS: mentation appropriate – no signs of neurologic abnormalities Assessment pyoderma, prepucial d/c, otitis, brachycephalic syndromw Plan cephalexin, otibiotic, ear cleaning fair prognosis

A volunteer writes:
I can not say that I know Dorito as I  met him only few hours after he arrived at the care center. He was laying  on his bed,  all grumpy…”Leave me along”  he seemed to say.. Of course, I understand…I could not leave this bruised soul to his lonesome. I talked to him in a soft voice, put treats on the floor of his kennel, came back again and again so he got used to my face… My last trip was successful…Dorito seemed ready to be snacked on(well, his name is Dorito) and was rubbing his body and face to  his door. Leashing him was no problem and off we went for a little walk around the block, then spent time in the yard for pictures. He accepted a scarf around his neck and even some light petting. He checked, leash free the grassy area full of canine smells…I wonder what he was thinking? He wagged his tiny tail , saluting a young lady on the other side of the fence. She was quite taken by him too…  Dorito is quite handsome but in need of TLC. His eyes are  clear ,  the folds of his face are neat and nothing is “growing” on his nose like it is for so many Bulldogs…His weight is great and he is quite a nice representative of the breed… Dorito is a bit hand  and camera shy but he has made giant steps in the right directions since his arrival and that is what really counts…I need to see a little bit more of him, so do other people. Meanwhile, know that this good lookin’ 4 year old BD is with us at the Manhattan Care Center and already dreaming to be yours…
