I know this is her given name but Grandma is such a great choice! Indeed, Grandma is like your own or the picture perfect of what a grandma should be, sweet, gentle and giving, dispensing love all around her. Grandma came to us with 3 other adults and many puppies that are not hers. She was caught in a great fire and her family lost its home – making her homeless too. Smoke inhalation affected her quite a bit but she is much better now with the help of our veterinary team. Her cough is down and she tolerates the daylight. Grandma is easy going. No questions asked. She goes with the flow and does what is asked from her. She is calm in her arrival kennel, looking up to see if someone will stop by and take her out. She enjoys a peaceful walk and mostly, mostly the company of a human. She is a great bench dog, hops right away by my side and literally covers my face with kisses. No need for a shower anymore! Grandma is plump and wears an impeccable strawberry blond coat. She has been well cared for and is beautiful and mushy in and out. I really can see her as the man(woman)’s best friend, the good book or TV buddy, the confident, the “Dame de Companie” so many of us dream of. Grandma is at the Manhattan Care Center, yearning for home and the love of a master or family.
