10/25/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/25/16 19:45 Disco is a young male APBT mix. He was found outside and brought to ACC by police. They described him as friendly, playful, and sweet. He took treats from them gently. Disco was adopted and returned 1 day later due to landlord conflict. Disco’s adopter reports that he is friendly, affectionate, playful, obedient, mellow, smart, low-maintenance, and medium energy. He spent his time near her but was quiet when she wasn’t giving him attention. He didn’t bark. He peed once inside in the bathroom while home alone (loose) for 4 hours and was otherwise well-behaved. Disco is friendly/outgoing with new people. He looks up at adults and children as he passes by them outside. He pauses and looks at other dogs; his adopter would call him and he would continue walking with her. Disco ate Science Diet dry food. He slept on a dog bed. He played tug and fetch with a rope toy. He sits when asked, sits while his harness is put on, and sits while waiting for someone to open the door. Disco pulled lightly on his leash. He was initially hesitant to enter the elevator but now enters with his adopter. Disco had a loose body and wagging tail while we pet him, scanned him (+), collared him, walked him, looked at his teeth, and took his pictures. He pulled lightly on his leash. When he saw a dog outside, he sat and wagged his tail as the other dog approached. When they got close, he jumped up and had a wagging tail and wiggly body. He sat when asked and took treats gently. While I worked at the computer, he sometimes sat quietly and sometimes whined a little.
10/22/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: This uproariously funny little dude is such an awesome dog that we want to just write “AMAZING!” and trust that you will immediately come down to check him out of the Chateau Care Center and take him into your forever home. Should you need any more encouragement, he has the best ears (maybe ever), he is gentle as the day is long, he loves to snuggle, he appears housetrained, you will get the fun of a big dog (check out his head!) with the convenience of a medium sized dog (think Bassett hound legs). He is fantastic on a leash, appears housetrained, and is friendly to absolutely everyone he meets. The behavior staff agrees he is all-around lovely, but who in the world could argue for a second? Do not miss the opportunity to spend your days with this boy and start your Disco party! Another volunteer writes: Disco is such a gentleman he waited for an invitation to join me on the bench and then pulled himself up (vs jumping up) as if he was doing a chin up. SO cute! He struggled a bit as his legs are short and I gave him a little boost for which I got a thank you kiss. Swoon! Affectionate, well behaved, gorgeously groomed, the perfect weight for his size, his feet make a perfect ‘first position’ when he sits. More swoon! Romping in play group with both males and females, Disco’s overall good behavior earned him good marks from his behavior assessor who feels he’ll be a good fit in a home with average dog experience. As my colleague says, come start your Disco party by making this little guy yours.
