04/26/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Dingledwarf came in as a stray, so his past behaviors in a home are unknown. At intake it was reported Dingledwarf was anxious but maintain a loose body posture, he allowed all handling. During SAFER Dingledwarf came into the assessment room loose and wiggly, he was friendly and social towards the assessor. He allowed all handling items to be conducted without issue. Dingledwarf joins the game during the tag interaction, and during the resources portion of the assessment Dingledarf was easy to handle when engaged with the item. Dingledwarf appears to be sociable, and did not display any behaviors concerns, so the department feels he can be suitable for an “Average” adopter. Look: 2. Dog pulls out of Assessor’s hands each time without settling during three repetitions. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, his eyes are averted, and his tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is likely closed for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Dog assumes play position and joins the game. Or dog indicates play with huffing, soft ‘popping’ of the body, etc. Dog jumps on Assessor once play begins. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2: 1. Dog does not respond at all for three seconds. His eyes are averted and his ears are relaxed. Toy: 1. Minimal interest in Toy, dog smells, then turns away. Dog-dog: When off leash with other dogs, Dingledwarf rushes the gate and greets with a high stance and tail. Once inside the pen he initially is sexually motivated but relaxes some and engages in running/chase play.
