09/11/2016 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/11/16 17:11 BASIC INFO Diamond A1089443 is an approximately 3 yeaer old American Pitbull Terrier Mix. Diamond was a gift to the owner 2 years ago from family member’s. The main reason for surrender is that the owner lives in NYCHA and Pitbulls are banned. Diamond has not been to a veterinarian recently, and does not have any health concerns. SOCIALIZATION Diamond is friendly around strangers. She lived with a 4 and 7 year old child and Diamond was respectful of them. Diamond plays exhuberantly with the children and adults alike. Diamond has never lived with another animal, but when she sees a dog outside she tries to play with them. BEHAVIOR Diamond growls if you try to take away her food bowl, water bowl or toy away. She struggles to take a bath. If an unfamiliar approaches the doorway, she barks. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Diamond is best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. She has a very high activity level. When home, she follows you around. She loves to play with squeaky toys. she has been kept mostly indoors. Diamond has a doggy bed she sleeps on. Diamond eats Buffalo brand dry dog food. Diamond is very house trained and prefers to go on grass. When left alone at home, she is well behaved. Diamond listens to the command sit. For exercise she is walked on and off the leash. she pulls on the leash, and comes back when called when off leash. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Diamond was very hyper, and did not listen to the commands sit, for her photo. She jumped at Counselor and planted a kiss on his cheek.
09/19/2016 WEB MEMO
A volunteer writes: Diamonds may be only a girl’s best friend but 3 year-old Diamond is anyone and everyone’s. With a cow print coat and giant bunny ears to boot, Diamond is as pretty as a picture and doesn’t she know it! On a recent walk she drew a small crowd, all “oohing” and “ahhing” over her exemplary good looks. And that was before she “unleashed” her very best asset! Her megawatt smile. Diamond’s amusingly long tongue and pristine pearly whites could make the gloomiest of days seem sunny and in no time at all she had charmed the entirety of her handful of admirers. Diamond is petite, sweet, and a bit high energy, though nothing some extra long walks in the park wouldn’t help. Be warned, though, that when you’re out and about with Miss Diamond you’ll need to allot some extra time for your journey. Her admirers wait for no one. Diamond is waiting in adoptions at Manhattan’s ACC.
