A volunteer wites:
A volunteer writes: Diamond showed a lot of enthusiasm as I approached her cage. She repeatedly jumped up as I would go to open her cage. To which I would respond by closing it until she sat and stayed. It only took her a couple of times to understand! She pulled a lot during our walk. I gave her, what I assume was, her first heeling lesson. It actually went okay. She’s very affectionate and eager to please. She shows great promise!
BEHAVIOR :
Diamond pulls a bit on the leash. She was calm and relaxed during handling. Diamond was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. She was easy to handle when chewing on toys.
Diamond was surrender to us. Her previous owner described her as a mellow, and affectionate with a medium activity level. Owner says she has been around her daughter and son who are both under 10. She says she is relaxed and playful with the daughter. Diamond is unbothered if food is touched while eating. She enjoys playing with squeaky toys and rope, and enjoys playing fetch and tug. Diamond has been crate-trained with a metal crate and owner says she does well with it”.Diamond did not show any concern during the behavior assessment. The behavior department feels that she can go to an Average home.
