10/08/16 11:59 Basic Information Deuce is a 8 month old female unaltered Rottweiler mixed with a boarbell that was surrendered due to personal problems. There are no health problems or injuries known from previous owner. Socialization Around strangers she is outgoing and does playful jumps. she has not been around children. With adults she likes to jump on people but is gentle. There is no bite history. she was in a household with 4 year old female Boarbell and 4 year old Rottweiler and puppies of the two. she has never been around cats. Behavior She defected in the house and urinated in the house before. She does pull when walking on leash. She isn’t bothered with fireworks and storms. He isn’t bothered with people grabbing the food bowl or touching it. He isn’t bothered when a bone or toy is taken away and will let you take it away. When pushed off furniture she gets down but will jump backn up. when someone is restraining her she isn’t bothered. Owner stated she does struggle with baths and getting her coat brushed. She pulls back when trimming nails. she isnt bothered with unafamiliar approaches. For the new family The owner described her as friendly, affectionate, playful, and mellow. His activity level is very high. When owner is home she tends to follow you around. He likes to chase. She is not house trained or crate trained.She did not have access to a yard. she does not knaow any commands. When on leash he will pull, when off leash she wanders but will not come when called. Behavior upon intake Deuce was friendly by letting counselor pet her. Counselor had difficulty taking intake photo because she wanted to jump and play. Counselor was able to collar.

Dog’s eyes are averted, with tail wagging and ears back. She allows head to be held loosely in Assessor’s cupped hands. Sensitivity: 1. Dog stands still and accepts the touch, her eyes are averted, and her tail is in neutral position with relaxed body posture. Dog’s mouth is open for at least a portion of the assessment item. Tag: 1. Follows at end of leash, body soft, body low and a bit fearful. Squeeze 1: 1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Squeeze 2:1. Dog gently pulls back his paw. Toy: 1. According to Deuce’s previous owner, Deuce was in a household with 4 year old female Boarbell and 4 year old Rottweiler and puppies of the two. When off leash with dogs at the Care Center, Deuce engages in gentle play with male and female dogs as well as puppies. She enjoys chase play and engages in role reversals. She takes frequent play breaks and when the energy is too high for her comfort she begins to explore her surroundings. The Behavior Department recommends that Deuce be placed in a home with dogs that match her gentle play style. 10/8: Deuce is a bit nervous but solicits and engages in gentle play. She engages in role reversals with the male dog, running and chasing him then running away to be chased by him. 10/9: Deuce is still somewhat nervous and hesitant to engage in play with another puppy and an adult male dog. She eventually loosens up and attempts to solicit running chase play but constantly slows herself down and takes time outs from the high energy play. 10/10: Deuce initially seeks handler interaction when in the pen with a puppy and an adult male dog, but eventually warms up and engages in gentle chase play. She takes frequent breaks and eventually stops playing altogether, and she returns to soliciting attention from the handler. 10/11-10/12: Deuce engages in gentle play with both male and females. When the energy is too high for her comfort she begins to explore her surroundings.
