According to the owner Destiny A1086833 hasn’t been to a veterinarian in years. The last time was when she gave birth and became ill after the birth (low calcium). Destiny has lost most of her teeth and her legs become “sore” when she “walks too much”.
PROFILE: 08/23/16 13:09
Basic Info:
Destiny A1086833 is a 15/16yr old female tan Chihuahua who was given to the owner after the previous owner died 11yrs ago and is being surrendered due to her being too old and the owner moving to where pets aren’t allowed. Destiny was last seen by a veterinarian years ago after giving birth to a litter.
Socialization:
Around strangers Destiny is friendly/outgoing. She’s spent time with children of different ages and was gentle, exuberant & playful with them or she would stay to herself (as she’s gotten older), same with the adults in the home. Destiny hasn’t been around other animals besides once years ago. She hasn’t bitten/scratched any person or animal.
Behavior:
Destiny has accidents around the home at times, the owner thinks it’s due to her being older. She isn’t bothered by the following: having her food/food bowl, toys/treats touched/moved, being moved off of furniture, being held/restrained or if someone unfamiliar approaches the home/family member. Destiny hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting or had her nails trimmed.
For A New Family To Know:
Destiny is described as friendly, affectionate, playful & mellow with a medium activity level. She enjoys playing (at times) & resting (her legs get tired if up and about for too long). When the owner is home Destiny follows them around. She enjoyed ball, squeaky & stuffed toys (not so much anymore). Destiny is an indoor only dog that sleeps on a dog bed, around the home or with an adult. She eats house food or wet Pedigree dog food 1-3x a day which she takes a while to eat and it needs to be pretty “mushy” for her to be able to eat it better.
Intake Behavior:
Destiny allowed all handling. She allowed to be scanned (-), collared & taken pictures of. Destiny will wag her tail when she hears her name or someone approaching her. She was then picked up/carried and placed into a kennel with ease where she began barking a bit perhaps for attention.
