06/24/16 12:55hrs Denzel appears to be a male shih-Tzu that was found on the street. During intake he would remain near the door. He would become frightened when he was quickly approached and bear his teeth. When he was called softly and allowed to approach the Admissions Counselor on his own, he would come near. He would sniff at the Admissions Counselor but remained to himself. He was collared, scanned for a microchip (negative) and photographed.

06/27/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Denzel came into our center after a member of the public found him tied to a gate. He was tense during intake and his initial medical exam, baring teeth when approached. However, if spoken to gently he would approach admissions counselor and briefly sniff. Denzel was difficult to remove from his kennel, baring teeth and attempting to bite leash. He would not allow collaring, jumping up and air snapping, attempting to bite, therefore tactile items were skipped. Denzel showed no interest in Toy. He approached the helper dog at an appropriate pace, tail at spine level, not stiff. Denzel must be placed with a New Hope partner. Toy 1: No interest. Dog-dog: 2. Dog approaches helper dog with tail at spine level, body not stiff, ears relaxed, lip neutral.
