A volunteer writes: Wow! Denver is one gorgeous dog! His coat gleams with good care, he’s playful and fun, and although he takes his photo shoot very seriously, he’s a fun boy who loves to play. In the park he wagged his tail as he watched some kids play ball and I knew he’d be a fun playful companion. We’re told he’s been with kids ages 5 and 8 and was playful, respectful and gentle with them, enjoys playing with other dogs, enjoys getting a bath(and gets lotion on after a bath!!) , being brushed, doesn’t guard his things, likes to play with toys and balls, and is energetic and active. I enjoyed my time with this handsome fellow who ignored all the dogs we passed on our way to the park, does pull hard on the leash and loved playing with a plush toy when off leash. We played tug and I let him win (shhhhh…) and he played by himself for a while and never tore it apart. That’s impressive! Denver’s tail never stops wagging, he’s fun, and sweet and his former owner said he’s very sensitive, feeling his (the owner’s) pain when he was sad and would attempt to console him. I love that….that’s what a loving companion is all about. Denver is with us as his family is moving out of the country. He’d love an active new family to love, a family that will take him for long walks, enjoy lots of play time followed up by lots of cuddle time. That’s what a devoted canine family member deserves.

He mouthed leash during positioning for Look item, pulled out of assessor’s hands on all three attempts. He leaned into assessor during Sensitivity item, body soft, open mouth. He is pushy when attempting to solicit, despite correction from the helper dog.The Behavior Team feels Denver would do best with an Experienced adopter that does not have young children.
