A volunteer writes: Due to housing restrictions, Miss Dee Dee joins us, alone, uncertain, and confused. Her coat shines with good care, and once she decided we should be friends I was showered with kisses, lots of pretty smiles and sweet tail wags. We’re told that Dee Dee is friendly around strangers, isn’t experienced with kids or other animals, doesn’t guard her things, will growl if disturbed while sleeping, is affectionate and playful, was fed people food, is housetrained and well behaved when left home alone. We enjoyed our walk to the park, Dee Dee and I, talking about current events, the warmish fall day, the Presidential election, the kind of food she likes, the latest doggie fashions and more. She’s an able conversationalist, and when it was time to pose for pictures she so understood me she was a gem! She posed, she smiled, she wagged and enjoyed some treats. In the pen I had a treat in my hand poised to give it to her when staff came over to talk to me…..after waiting patiently for the treat, she finally leaned against me, reminding me that hey, she was waiting. So smart and so cute! Dee Dee needs to feel safe and secure with her new person, so a little patience will go a long way. She and I connected, and you will too….. Come meet her, have a conversation and reap the reward of a friend for life. A volunteer updates: “Hey Girlfriend”! Happy to see a friend with a leash she stuck her nose into the opening making it so easy for me. Dee Dee loved playing with a tennis ball, bringing it back to me for another throw and showing off her ‘sit’ for a treat. Nudging me to pet her, sometimes we need a day or two to feel comfortable in a new place and that’s what it took for my friend Dee Dee. Happy to be your one and only doggie love she’s hoping you’ll stop by to meet her today.
