08/24/2016 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Dedra was surrender to us. According to her previous owner Dedra is uncomfortable around strangers. If someone approaches owner she will bark, growl, snap, and bite. Dedra has not lived or been around anyone else except the owner. She would play in a somewhat rough manner with owner. She lived with litter mate and her mother and father. They would tolerate each other and would play in a somewhat rough manner. She has never lived or been around any other kind of animal. Dedra was difficult to remove from her kennel showing teeth, growling and lunges at the rope. She did not show any social behavior. Once she was out of the kennel he stands tall and makes direct eye contact. Dedra was growling loudly expose her front teeth, grabbing at the leash and preparing to lunge forward towards the handler. The behavior team decided to place her back in her kennel she was difficult to handle. Due to the behavior demonstrated in the shelter the behavior department believes that Dedra is not an appropriate candidate for SAFER. The behavior department feels that he would do best if placed with a New Hope partner who can follow up on this behavior in a more stable environment and can provide any necessary behavior modification before placement into a permanent home. Force-free, reward based training is advised to help Dedra acclimate more comfortably in a new home environment.

08/24/2016 GROUP BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When introduced on leash to another dog at the care center, Dedra rushes forward with slight hackles raised and a high tail. She bounces back once, and barks. Before walking away, she rushes forward again and briefly vocalizes. Her previous owner cites “She lived with a litter mate and her mother and father. They would tolerate each other and would play in a somewhat rough manner. She has never lived or been around any other kind of animal. She has bitten before, she bit her litter mates.”.
