RECOMMENDATIONS: New Hope _X_Place with a New Hope partner – Darling has not acclimated well to the kennel environment and has allowed only minimal up close tactile handling since intake (growling and snapping upon intake and during Squeeze item). We recommend placement with a New Hope partner who can provide any necessary behavior modification (force free, positive, reinforcement-based) and re-evaluate behavior in a stable home environment before placement into a permanent home. Potential challenges: _X_House soiling – Finder reports Darling to have accidents in the home. It is not reported which remedies were attempted to try to rectify the problem. We recommend indoor wee wee pads placed down for in between walks, as well as guidance and consistency to learn to eliminate outside. Accidents should never be punished as it can damage the human-dog relationship and is likely to make the problem worse. _X_Handling/touch sensitivity – Darling has growled and snapped during up close tactile handling here at the center, showing an un-comfortability with touch in certain areas. It is important to be cautious as we do not know where she may have sensitivities.
